Environmental Organisations Oppose Decision to Lift Moratorium on Offshore Bunkering in Biodiversity Hotspot

The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) recently announced that it will be lifting a moratorium on new licences for ship-to-ship bunkering in Algoa Bay. This decision has been made in the absence of a comprehensive Environmental Risk Assessment and without meaningful public consultation.
