Woolworths MyDiffrence

MyDifference is Woolworths’ customer loyalty giving programme that lets you support the causes you care about every time you shop. By selecting BirdLife South Africa as one of your chosen beneficiaries, Woolworths will make a donation on your behalf at no additional cost to you.

If you’re a new MyDifference member, simply select BirdLife South Africa as your cause within 30 days of joining. Existing members can review or update their chosen causes during Woolworths’ annual selection period.

Existing MyDifference members who did not select a cause by 30 June 2026 have been opted out of supporting a cause. They will only be able to select or change their causes during the next annual selection window, 2–31 January 2027.

To select BirdLife South Africa as your cause, follow these easy steps:

Download the Woolworths app. Either download or update the app in the App or Play Store on your phone.
Join MyDifference. Open the app and follow the prompts to either register (if you’re a first-time user) or log into your existing account.
Select a cause.
- On the menu at the bottom of the screen, tap ‘Loyalty’
- Under the Explore Loyalty heading, tap ‘Causes’
- Tap ‘Choose My Own’
Search by category. Type ‘BirdLife South Africa’ in the search bar.
Help us make a difference together. Follow the prompts to confirm BirdLife South Africa as your cause.
Remember to scan your virtual card. Scan your MyDifference virtual card on the Woolworths App every time you shop to support us, at no cost to you.

ABSA Rewards

The ABSA Rewards programme gives customers cash back on everyday purchases using eligible ABSA cards. Members can redeem their rewards as cash, vouchers, or donations to registered charities – including BirdLife South Africa – supporting important causes while getting value from everyday spending.

Donating is simple:

Open the ABSA app and log in
Scroll to the “Absa Rewards” section
Select “Spend”, then “Donate to charity”
Choose BirdLife South Africa and enter the amount you’d like to donate

Support BirdLife South Africa through Woolworths’ My Difference Programme

Woolworths has consolidated the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Programme and WRewards loyalty programme into a new initiative called My Difference.

As part of this transition, existing MySchool or WRewards cards will be deactivated soon. To continue supporting the causes you care about—such as BirdLife South Africa—you will need to switch to a My Difference card, available virtually via the Woolworths app or in physical form at Woolworths stores. Please note that physical cards must be linked through the app.

You may support up to three causes through the programme.

By selecting BirdLife South Africa as one of your causes, a portion of your spend will directly contribute to our bird conservation work across the country, at no cost to you.
